It isn't all doom & gloom

I've noticed that lately, with all the doom & gloom news about the economy, people are shopping with us more. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but if you think about it, it makes sense. Consumers are being more discerning where they spend their money. You want quality, you want unique, you want special. Whether it be for yourself or a gift, spending is not as frivolous as it once was. That is okay. It is just more special now. Even more since we started our Rewards Program. Not only are you getting something special for yourself or for someone else, you are getting a little bit back in return. Think of it like investing & getting dividends. It is probably the only investment that you could make right now that isn't volatile.

Gift Ideas Part 1 - Stocking Stuffers

Scottie Dog candles? I know so many dog lovers that will put these on display & never light them because they'll love them so much.

Crystallized business card holder. Or, use it to hold ID, credit cards & a little cash for an evening out.
This is the best nail polish I have come across. Besides the obvious needs from a nail polish (ie: won't chip, etc) this stuff is actually Vegan & safe for pregnant women to use. Shouldn't everything be safe regardless of whether or not your preggers? Oh well, either way - the stuff is great.
These little soy candles burn for 18 hours & it is tiny! Cute, smells yummy & perfect stocking size.
Around here we love anything pink. Even better when it smells delicious.

Thanksgiving Housewarming Gift

Normally I'm not one to like things to smell like food, unless it is my food. I don't want my shower gel to smell like cupcakes or my lotion to smell like chocolate, but let me tell you - this candle is amazing. The folks at Pacifica have managed to make an amazingly delicious smelling Caribbean Sugar Pumpkin Candle that is perfect for Thanksgiving. Every year we go to mom's house for Thanksgiving & I try to bring a little something for her, since she does all the cooking & the hosting & everything else. I do the dishes of course, but I don't like to come empty handed.
This is what I'm bringing this year, with the matches too of course! How cute are those?!?

Gift Ideas

The holidays are coming fast & lately we have had a lot of shoppers looking for special birthday gifts for friends & family that have birthdays around the holidays. One of my close girlfriends has her birthday of Valentine's Day & has always said that she feels like she gets robbed a little bit, not having 2 separate days to celebrate. So, I can understand the importance of wanting to make sure someone's birthday around the holidays is made just as special as all of the other festivities surrounding it. So, long story short - I thought I'd put together some good gift ideas that are fun & special for people who have birthdays too close to the holidays.

Here are some things that I love:

This room diffuser is made by the women of Archipelago, it has a clean, citrus-y scent that I just love. The Ribbons of Love diffuser has a portion of its proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research - which makes it even better!

This Hawaiian Ruby Guava Gift Set is so perfect & so cute. It has everything you need - a solid perfume, lotion, a candle & matching matches! It smells divine & is made of great natural ingredients.

This 4-leaf clover necklace is a cute gift of a little luck for someone special. Made of a vintage brass 4-leaf clover with semi-precious stone accents - it is a perfect gift of understated elegance.
