Muted brass buttons, unique draping, an oversized collar and comfortable fabric. There's no where you can't go in this fun layering piece by Blake Standard. The tab vest features many design details that give an exciting twist to a basic wardrobe piece. The collar can be unbuttoned and worn as a shawl collar, undo the buttons at the shoulders for a little cap sleeve jacket and the back is adorned with additional buttons and a center zip. It's an incredibly versatile piece that can be worn a number of different ways with multiple separates from your wardrobe. Here we've paired the vest with an organic cotton tee by Prairie Underground and tailored jeans by Raven Denim. With this outfit you are ready for virtually anything, so grab your favorite bag and head out for a day of fun filled adventure.

Outfit of the Day!

Prairie Underground continues its mission to redefine lounge wear with its organic painter's pants. No we would not recommend painting in them, but they are quite nice to wear while waiting out a lazy, foggy Sunday afternoon in the city or when your classes start a tad too early on Monday morning. They are undeniably comfortable and easy to pair with a casual tee and sandals. Even dressing up the look is easy. Simply throw on a clingy cami and a cropped tie cardigan, keep the pants cuffed and step into a pair of platform or wedge sandals - now you've got the perfect hipster outfit to hang at that trendy coffee shop in Potrero Hill (just don't forget your laptop).

This look features: Testament Midnight Garden Ruffle Tee, $85. Prairie Underground Organic Painter's Pants, $145.

Outfit of the Day!

Simple pleasures. That's what comes to mind when we slip into anything designed by Prairie Underground. The Long Cloak Hoodie is no different. Soft, comfortable, and incredibly versatile, it transitions from daytime casual to edgy evening effortlessly. We've paired it with casual leggings by Plastic Island and used accessories like this owl necklace from Classic Hardware and the slouchy Tribecca bag by Big Buddha (below) to dress up the look. Design details such as soft gathers along the hood and pockets as well as its easy A-line cut create a unique statement that redefines loungewear.

This look features: Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie, $225. Plastic Island Leggings, $55. Classic Hardware Owl Necklace, $58. Big Buddha Tribecca, $82 (shown below).

Its sleek look – fitted through the waist and cut above the hips will drive the boys crazy! The matching Tailored Vest peaks out from under the blazer’s lapel and can then be layered with a fitted tank. Outfit of the Day!

The weekend has arrived! Throw on your favorite tee and grab an oversized handbag - there's lots to do and see. This outfit ensures extreme comfort and flexibility as you hop from one errand to the next. We love the loose fit, charming print and flutter collar on this t-shirt by Testament. It's flowing fit combines perfectly with denim leggings by Prairie Underground and it's easy to accessorize with a funky necklace and slouchy bag. You're now ready to venture out to the farmer's market, downtown shops and meet up with friends at that hip little corner cafe.

Prairie Underground!

A little bit about one of our favorite brands:

We have used sustainable and organic fabrics in every collection we have produced beginning with Summer of 2005. While it has always been a part of our business ethic to incorporate these materials we have shied away from describing ourselves exclusively as an eco line because that only describes a part of our business. We want to be a populist line so matters of accessibility, economy, domestic production and style are all a part of our design philosophy. We are also designers with an idiosyncratic point of view, obsessive about fit and how our end user will wear our clothes every day. We want to make non-conformist uniforms for cool working women.

We produce and ship every item in the collection, none of the clothing we show is for editorial only and all styles are available in stores, even if that means cutting 20 pieces. This business supports us entirely, and is helping to keep active a diminishing network of sewing contractors in Seattle. All of our production is subcontracted to local sew shops and the majority of our fabric is knitted in the United States.

12/7/07- Kikkerland - this one I am excited for. Great little cufflinks at an affordable price. The best guy gift. They are so hard to buy for, and these are just great & fun.
